Position summary.

We’re seeking a talented and versatile Motion Designer to join our creative team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating high-quality motion graphics, animations, and visual effects for various projects. You will work collaboratively with creative directors, writers, strategists, and other designers to bring creative visions to life.

Minimum experience and requirements.  

  • Requires 2+ years of experience in motion design
  • Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Keynote
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects and Premiere, Apple computers, MacOS
  • Ability to work within outlined design standards
  • Strong knowledge of layout principles and design aesthetics
  • Ability to present concepts, storyboards and videos to internal audiences
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintains a high attention to detail as well as strong organizational and time management skills
  • Performs duties and tasks independently with little supervision, while also understanding when to collaborate and seek guidance
  • Is flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Possesses curiosity and confidence to solve complex problems

Principle accountabilities & job functions.  

Motion design:

  • Create high-quality motion graphics, animations, and visual effects for various projects. This includes conceptualizing, storyboarding, and executing designs that align with the agency’s and clients’ visions.
  • Execute vision of art directors, associate creative directors and creative director
  • Work collaboratively with writers, strategists, project leads and other designers to create work that meets the client’s needs and objectives
  • Stay current on industry trends
  • Present work internally and externally, providing rationale, design strategy, and discussion
  • Use Canva to create social templates with simple motion and transition effects

 

Basic video editing:

  • Perform basic video editing tasks to support motion design projects. This includes trimming footage, adding transitions, color correction, and integrating motion graphics into video content to create cohesive and polished final products.

 

Sound design integration:

  • Collaborate with audio specialists or develop basic sound design skills to enhance motion graphics projects with appropriate audio elements. This includes selecting or creating sound effects, background music, and ensuring audio-visual synchronization to elevate the overall impact of motion design deliverables.

 

Graphic design:

  • Create designs, layouts, motion, video and storyboards for multiple communication channels, campaigns and other deliverables
  • Draw sketches and concepts for initial review, based on the project creative brief and campaign objectives
  • Understand and apply knowledge of: color theory and relationships; typography and typesetting; perspective and space relationships; composition and grid structures

 

Team & culture leadership:

  • Develop relationships with each team member in order to collaborate effectively within the creative department and across the agency
  • Contribute to the growth and goals of the agency and team by meeting deadlines, following agency processes, attending agency outings, and exemplifying agency core values
