B CORP

Partners in creating a better world.

Ervin & Smith is one of just a handful of Certified B Corp marketing agencies in Omaha — and in the state. It’s a designation that means our business is held to high standards for social and environmental impact, not just profit. We chose this path because we believe marketing should be ethical, transparent and good for people. B Corp Certification is more than a badge we can post alongside our logo; it gives our clients and partners proof that we live our values in the way we operate, hire and show up in our community.

What it means to be Certified B Corp.

The B Corp movement was started by nonprofit organization B Lab™ in 2006, with the idea that a different kind of global economic system (one that benefited all people, communities and the planet) was not only possible but necessary – and businesses could lead the way. Through various programs and tools, the B Lab Global Network leads economic systems change to support our collective vision of an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy. To earn and maintain certification, businesses must complete a rigorous evaluation process, and meet high performance standards in three key areas:

1.

Social and environmental performance. Organizations must earn a B Impact Assessment score of 80+ and complete a risk review.

2.

Legal accountability. Organizations must demonstrate commitment to a governance structure that prioritizes all stakeholders, not just shareholders.

3.

Transparency. Organizations must allow information about their performance to be publicly available on the B Lab website. You can find ours here.

Our overall score.

The B Impact Assessment score is at the heart of of the certification process. It’s calculated based on each organization’s commitment to five impact area pillars. We officially earned our B Corp Certification in March 2025, joining a select group of companies around the world committed to using business as a force for good. But we can’t just sit back and wait. Every three years, a recertification process measures our progress. We hope to improve our score with each new evaluation.
