Director of Media

The Director of Media leads the agency’s media strategy, ensuring our clients’ advertising investments drive measurable results. This role requires deep expertise in performance marketing, strong leadership skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering business impact through media.

Minimum experience and requirements.

  • 7-10+ years of experience in media strategy and buying

  • Deep expertise in managing successful paid advertising campaigns across various channels, with a strong emphasis on performance marketing

  • Working experience with modern tracking and tagging capabilities, specifically with Google Tag Manager and GA4

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Keynote

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and selling work

  • Knowledge of advertising laws and compliance requirements

  • Highly organized with strong time management skills

  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance

Leadership and team management:
  • Lead and manage the media team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and support

  • Cultivate a high-performing, innovative, and growth-focused media team

  • Strong ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team

  • Foster collaboration across departments to integrate media efforts with creative, strategy, and client success teams

  • Willingness to coach and be coached to support an open, candid, and collaborative environment

 

Media strategy and execution:
  • Oversee all media planning, buying, and campaign performance across client accounts

  • Set the vision for media strategy, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and agency goals

  • Establish best practices, processes, and performance standards for media planning and execution

  • Ensure the media team delivers data-driven insights and optimizations that drive measurable business results

  • Lead media performance storytelling to connect media investment with business impact

  • Identify and implement new media channels, technologies, and innovations to enhance client success

 

Client and business impact:
  • Provide strategic oversight on budget allocation and resource management to optimize efficiency and ROI

  • Experience working directly with clients, leading media reporting and performance conversations

  • Stay ahead of industry trends to keep the agency at the forefront of media strategy and execution

  • Ability to lead projects, direct team members, and manage complex media initiatives

  • Adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Curiosity and confidence to solve complex problems

In 2016, after a five-month sabbatical around the world, she returned to her hometown and joined Ervin & Smith. Her global perspective and expanded professional experience influence the work she does today.
