Founded in 1983 by Doug Smith.

Ervin & Smith Advertising and Public Relations began in Omaha, Nebraska, where we still operate today in an award-winning office space in Aksarben Village. What started as a direct marketing firm for the financial services industry has grown into a full-service agency with a broad client roster to match.

As a privately held and funded company, we’ve worked hard to make Ervin & Smith the place where we all want to work and the partner our clients want to work with—a vision Doug still supports as our Chairman.

Leanne Prewitt

President & Chief Creative Officer​

As president and chief creative officer, Leanne leads the agency’s culture and creative direction and also oversees our team of writers, designers, developers and public relations professionals who create award-winning work for our client.

Leanne began her professional career in New York City working for some of the nation’s leading agencies. In 2016, after a five-month sabbatical around the world, Leanne returned to her hometown and joined Ervin & Smith. Her global perspective and expanded professional experience influence the work she does today.

Katie Herzog

Chief Client Officer

As chief client officer, Katie works every day to move our clients’ businesses forward by ensuring we are continuously building collaborative partnerships, providing excellent service and generating measurable outcomes.

In Katie’s 10+ years with Ervin & Smith, she’s led accounts with complex or distributed delivery channels. A lifelong learner and problem-solver, Katie’s specialty is uncovering new opportunities and applying proven marketing strategies to grow revenue.

Ashley Bails

Chief Marketing Officer

Ashley brings 15 years of experience, leading and executing content marketing, SEO, website strategy, analytics and digital advertising initiatives. She oversees all media strategy for our clients and has been able to help clients reach record-setting milestones through a performance-based approach.

In her role as CMO, Ashley is responsible for helping lead the agency and overseeing the success of clients’ marketing and media performance—as well as driving growth and innovation for the marketing and media departments.

Brittany Wozny

Executive Director of Finance & HR

As the executive director of finance and human resources at Ervin & Smith, Brittany is responsible for the oversight of agency financial statements and financial planning. In addition to providing accurate and transparent information to employees and clients, she leads human resources initiatives such as recruitment, hiring and employee relations.

Driven by a desire for efficiency, Brittany takes pride in improving processes and removing barriers to success for all employees.

Chris Gallaher

Director of Client Strategy

Chris is a career marketer who holds to one simple truth: All great work begins with a great strategy. With over 20 years of experience, Chris has worked across a diverse portfolio of industries including insurance, healthcare, utilities, financial services, automotive and travel. He has also worked within nearly every imaginable media—including digital advertising, content, retargeting, IP targeting, video, direct mail, email, print, collateral, event promotion, social and SEM.

At Ervin & Smith, Chris works collaboratively with the team to develop actionable marketing strategies, integrated communications and connected experiences that drive sales and engagement.

Megan Jenkins

Account Lead

With nearly 20 years of experience, Megan has developed a clear problem-solving approach to marketing and great relationship-building skills enabling her to build meaningful partnerships and help clients achieve their goals. She also has experience on both the client and agency sides, working in a variety of industries including healthcare, business insurance, wealth management, software and more. 

In her current role, Megan leads accounts, provides business and marketing strategy consultation and is the day-to-day contact for clients.

Kelly Heavican

Media Lead

Kelly has worked for over 15 years in digital marketing. Her experience includes B2B and B2C companies and spans both display and paid search—with expertise in text and product listing ads.

Kelly’s knack for storytelling helps her bring a fresh perspective to data analysis, strategy and the execution of marketing campaigns. Helping clients understand the impact of their marketing investments is one of Kelly’s favorite parts of working at E&S.

Ryan Cruickshank

Director of IT

Ryan has close to 20 years of experience in the field of information technology, with a diverse background in both agency and corporate settings. His specialties include information security, network and systems administration, technical relationship management and project management.

As the director of IT, Ryan is responsible for the overall planning, organizing and execution of all IT functions for Ervin & Smith. This includes everything from desktop support and server management to information security and network infrastructure, as well as policy management and disaster recovery planning

John Rost

Creative Director

John is a career strategist and team leader with a background building and growing in-house creative teams. As creative director at Ervin & Smith, John holds all creative output of the agency to the highest standards of taste, intentionality, and measurable success.

John has driven results in countless cross-platform campaigns, built and re-imagined dozens of brands, and helped drive record-breaking success in eCom and beyond. His penchant for finding the truth in a strategy and bringing it to life have created lasting impacts for everything from startups to household names.

Erin Gambaiana

Associate Creative Director

Erin is an award-winning designer with nearly 20 years of experience in advertising. In addition to her expertise in brand development and creative strategy, Erin specializes in environmental graphics—combining her skills to bring brands to life in captivating and engaging new ways. 

As an associate creative director at Ervin & Smith, Erin has helped lead branding initiatives and campaigns for clients including Scoular, Borsheims, Agemark and Roger.

Hannah Husman

Associate Creative Director

Hannah is an experienced storyteller who has crafted multi-channel creative campaigns for brands like TD Ameritrade, Rotary Lift, United Healthcare and Panda Express. She has a knack for using strategic insights to create dynamic, original concepts that move brands forward. Beyond campaigns, she’s helped develop unique brand platforms and identities for companies of all sizes.

In 2017, Hannah was named to a national list of 50 Under 30 women excelling in creative roles by international creative publication The Drum.
