We recognize and appreciate creative minds working in all mediums—which is why it was especially exciting to partner with the outstanding team at RDG Planning & Design on the architecture and interior design of our new creative space in Aksarben Village.
To add to this excitement, the office has been recognized by AIA Central States with an Excellence in Interior Architecture Honor Award! This top recognition is one of only three Honor Awards presented to design firms like RDG from the American Institute of Architects Central States region, which encompasses Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
E&S and RDG set out in fall 2016 to turn a formerly unfinished space into a vibrant, flexible office to fit the needs of individuals and teams. The project required diversity in workstation environments while allowing for impromptu breakout work and collaboration spaces.
AIA jurors judged projects based on features like unique design, originality, extended use attributes, sustainability, budget and use of environmental surroundings:
“Jurors praised the restraint and minimal palette in this interior. The plywood clad program elements and strategic pop of color becomes a rich space defining moment; spaces within space which are wonderfully articulated as furnishings placed within its industrial container.”
