Day one.
We started our two days together with a brand new batch of swag and an invigorating all-agency training session. Our office coach, Nicole Paul, led us through exercises and meaningful discussion around the topic of building trust. When the whole agency can work from a shared language and hear each other’s perspectives, we’re better equipped for success in any environment.
After some focused work time, individual team lunches and client meetings, we boarded Ollie the Trolley for an afternoon architectural tour of Omaha. Not only did our out-of-state employees get to learn about Omaha history, but in-person staff also got to see our city in a new light. After lots of learning and laughs, we returned to Aksarben to enjoy the patio and appetizers at one of our favorite local restaurants (and our downstairs neighbor,) Herbe Sainte.
Day two.
Day two was a whirlwind, beginning with the entire team volunteering at Food Bank for the Heartland. We chose this organization because of their incredible impact—feeding families, children, seniors and veterans facing food insecurity across Nebraska and western Iowa.
In true E&S fashion, our two-hour volunteer window turned into a friendly competition and strategic problem to solve. In a desire to fill as many boxes as we could in the time allotted, we broke a sweat packing 1,038 boxes with 16,600 lbs. of food.
Following a successful morning of giving back and an afternoon of creating things that matter for our clients, we gathered around the office kitchen island for one of our favorite mid-week traditions: Wednesday Happy Hour. The last hour of the workday, we shared our favorite moments, biggest lessons and a few heartwarming toasts. As the world and the ways we work continue to evolve, we’re committed to coming together when we can to learn, grow and create. Plans are already underway to meet up again this winter.
