Ervin & Smith was recently honored at AIGA Nebraska’s Show with three awards for outstanding design.
Now in its 23rd year, Show brings together the local creative community to showcase and appreciate the year’s best design. Hundreds of entries from across the state were evaluated in a two-round process by three national judges, and winning entries were unveiled live at an exhibit on November 15.
The agency received a bronze award in the Web category for the “Access to the Pros” microsite designed for TD Ameritrade.
Access to the Pros
The Ervin & Smith creative team was challenged to create a microsite for a cutting-edge feature on TD Ameritrade’s thinkorswim® trading platform. The new feature allowed investors to share their platform setup with other users, or select tailored setups based on their expertise and interests. Video content created for the “Access to the Pros” project also demonstrated how users can learn from the best by accessing trading setups from TD Ameritrade experts.
The agency also received silver and bronze awards in the logo and poster categories, respectively, for design work done on behalf of the Omaha Summer Arts Festival.
The Omaha Summer Arts Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary this year and commemorated the milestone with an update of their brand. The Ervin & Smith creative team gave them a fresh, vibrant logo that they can use for the next 40 years. Color and texture combine in a design that appeals to children and adults alike and captures the energy and handmade “Festival Spirit” of the event.
The team also created a coordinating poster that flowed from the new logo design and illustrated the festival’s downtown Omaha home using contoured lines. Festival iconography and Omaha landmarks were collaged throughout the piece. The “Festival Spirit” illustration offered viewers many elements to explore and discover – just like the event itself. The poster was screen-printed to match the handmade aesthetic of the festival.
