The best public relations professionals recently gathered for the PRSA Nebraska Paper Anvil Awards gala. The annual awards celebration recognizes outstanding achievements in the public relations practice across the state.
The Ervin & Smith Public Relations team was honored for their work on two campaigns:
CAREEROCKIT
In support of the Greater Omaha Chamber’s CAREEROCKIT initiative, Ervin & Smith worked with the Chamber team to develop a paid social media campaign to help create awareness and buzz around the event. CAREEROCKIT is an annual event connecting students with local businesses to inspire learning and build excitement for growing career opportunities. The three-week social campaign targeted students, parents and school counselors in the Omaha metro area on Facebook and Instagram with the goal of increasing event awareness and attendance. In the end, more than 12,600 students at 62 schools across eight counties in Nebraska and Iowa participated in CAREEROCKIT.
E&S Move to Aksarben
Between September 2016 and April 2017, Ervin & Smith tackled the big job of moving its headquarters and 40+ employees from West Omaha to Aksarben Village. An integrated, phased communications plan was created by the leadership and public relations teams to coincide with the move and generate and maintain public interest throughout the office build and move.
Tactics included proactive media relations, internal communications, awards entries, special events, social media, blogging and local SEO. From “sneak peeks” on social media to a celebration for agency friends and family, Ervin & Smith experienced sustained engagement and increased brand awareness within the Omaha community.
